Vera Lahola, 91, of Perth Amboy, passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at her home.
Born in Kiev, Ukraine, Vera came to the United States in 1957 and settled in Perth Amboy. She was a homemaker. Vera was a wonderful gardener and she had won several awards from the Perth Amboy Garden Club. She was skilled at sewing, embroidery and all types of needle crafts. She spoke and taught four languages both in the Ukraine and here at home. She was anavid reader and she enjoyed cooking and baking. She also looked forward to her twice daily walks on the Perth Amboy waterfront. She was an accomplished world traveler and cruiser and she enjoyed visiting our National Parks.
Predeceased by her husband Stephen in 2013 and her brother Victor Stempel, she is survived by her daughters, Olga Lahola-Tulnew and her husband Nicholas and Irene Bigos and her husband Ron, all of Edison.
Funeral services will begin at 10:30 AM on Saturday, September 14th from Zylka Funeral Home, 513 State Street, Perth Amboy. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM with a Panachida at 8:00 PM.
