Edward Tomaszewicz, 64, of Old Bridge passed away at his home on Thursday, January 13, 2022.
Born and raised in Perth Amboy, Eddie settled in Old Bridge in 1989. He retired in 2021 after 35 years as a mechanical engineer with the United States Army working at Picatinny Arsenal and the former Fort Monmouth, both in New Jersey, and most recently at the Aberdeen Proving Ground in Aberdeen, Maryland. Eddie loved classic rock music of the 60s, 70s and 80s, playing his drums and guitar, and reminiscing with his old band mates from his days with the ‘Ice Band.’ He enjoyed baseball and was an avid fan of the New York Yankees. He also enjoyed his time coaching in the Old Bridge Little Leagues. Eddie was a tinkerer; if something needed fixing, he was fixing it. He traveled extensively both here and abroad. Most of all, Eddie loved spending time with his family and he was thrilled to be a grandfather to his 5-month-old granddaughter.
Predeceased by his parents, Michael and Maria Tomaszewicz, he is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Barbara Tomaszewicz; his children, Dana Doolin and her husband John, and Austin Tomaszewicz and his wife Amy; his brothers George Tomaszewicz and his wife Bette, and Peter Tomaszewicz and his wife Margaret; his niece Kat Tomaszewicz; and his granddaughter Terra Melody Doolin,
Funeral services will begin on Wednesday, January 19th at 9:00 AM from Zylka Funeral Home 513 State Street, Perth Amboy, followed by a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial from St. Stephen’s Church, Perth Amboy.
