Carmen M. Pagan, 67, of Perth Amboy passed away suddenly on Friday, March 5, 2021 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy.
Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Carmen has lived in Perth Amboy since 1969. She retired in 2010 as a chef/manager at the former Woodbridge Developmental Center in Avenel, where she worked for 35 years. Carmen was a giving person who put the needs of others before her own and was always available to help anyone that needed a hand. She enjoyed watching old horror movies, dancing, crafting, especially making things such as Easter baskets, cooking and decorating for holidays and using her green thumb to take care of her many plants.
Predeceased by her parents Segundo and Rose Rangel and her sister Rosa Cabrero, she is survived by her sons, Jesus Pagan and his wife Monica and Julio Pagan and his wife Shelley Palmer; her siblings Marta Delgado and Edwin Martinez, and her grandchildren, Monica, Emma, Matthew, Isaiah, Justin and Jacob.
Funeral services will begin at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, March 10th from Zylka Funeral Home, 513 State Street, Perth Amboy with interment to follow in Alpine Cemetery, Perth Amboy. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 9th from 5:00 to 9:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the restrictions placed on gatherings and activities, all current guidelines are to be observed during visitations, including the use of face coverings and social distancing.
